Made in Italy

Made in Italy
Where every bag begins
At Ree Projects, each bag is meticulously handcrafted from the finest Italian leather, with every detail considered. We source locally and produce everything with the same family-owned factory in the Veneto region in Italy — our partner for nearly a decade now. Every piece passes through the hands of carefully selected craftspeople who've spent their lives perfecting their craft, in the same workshop, with the same care and attention, every time.

Hand feel
Where every design starts
Before a design takes shape, it starts with how the leather feels. Its softness, its grain, the hand touch — the finest Italian leather, carefully chosen to bring each design to life.
We source carefully from locally selected tanneries, all LWG-certified. The Leather Working Group is an international standard for environmentally and socially responsible leather production — from how the hides are sourced to how they're finished. Every hide we use meets that standard, without exception.

From Concept to Prototype
Every detail, worked out
Once the leather is chosen, the first prototypes take shape — the moment an idea stops being just an idea, and becomes something you can actually hold. Piece by piece, we work through every detail with our development team, proto by proto, until it feels exactly right. This is where a design finally takes shape and becomes a bag.

Edge Paint
Layer by layer, by hand
Before a bag is assembled, every single piece passes through the edge paint department. Each edge is sanded smooth, primed, painted, and polished in careful layers — until the finish is exactly right. It's a slow process, but it's what gives every piece its clean, luxurious and precise edge.

Precision
Stitch by stitch
Every seam is hand-stitched, part of our manufacturer's in-house production line — the yarn thickness and stitches per inch carefully considered for each piece. Every step is checked by a dedicated team before it moves to the finishing department.

Built by hand
Our pieces are shaped by hand in a family-run factory in the Veneto region in Italy, our partners for almost a decade now — carefully selected craftsmen who've spent their lives perfecting their craft. Behind every pair of hands is a story of its own.

MARINA, 62
" I want to leave my signature on the craft of bag making and teach the new generations of artisans. I want to share my knowledge to them and hope they will create great work. Between my generation and that of the new craftsmen there is a difference. My generation was born with the leather goods, it was our world. Now, the young people who undertake this road are very few and it takes a lot of passion and love. To make a bag it takes teamwork, for the best success the teamwork is everything. I love everything about bag making and I hope to pass on this passion to my team."

"I grew up in a family of leatherworkers, shoes and bags were our daily bread. I preferred to work outside the family environment to be independent and have new experiences. The work was much more hand made than now. Progress has made this work faster and easier. One of things I love about bag making is to find solutions to make the product possible according to the designers needs."

LUCA, 61
" I made my first bag 45 years ago. I began my experience in a world that revolved all around leather. I started out by making belts, small accessories, purses and then moved on to more elaborate and refined bags, paying more attention to the details. Although the advent of computers and new technologies have greatly changed the system of bag production, the concept of the bag has always remained the same. This is a job for which you must have the outmost passion. It is gratifying to see a finished bag end up on a customer or displayed in the best shops in the world."
